Façade painting
Renovation, crack treatment and durable protection against the Luxembourg climate.
A façade in Luxembourg goes through around a hundred freeze-thaw cycles a year with sustained rainfall. The product matters less than the diagnosis: a structural crack treated as a hairline crack will be back within two winters. So we always start by identifying the cause of the damage (rising damp, a waterproofing failure, structural movement) before discussing finishes. The system is then chosen according to the permeability of the substrate: old masonry has to breathe, recent render needs something else.
How we work
01
Diagnosis
Survey of cracks and their nature, absorption testing, tracing the origin of soiling and damage.
02
Cleaning
Low or high pressure washing depending on the substrate. Fungicidal treatment where needed.
03
Repair
Opening and bridging cracks, render repairs, treatment of critical details: sills, cornices, junctions.
04
Protection
Stabilising primer, then a finish system matched to the wall's permeability: pliolite, siloxane or mineral.
Frequently asked
What season is best for a façade?
April to October, with temperatures reliably above 5 °C and no rain forecast within 24 hours of application.
Is a municipal permit required?
A change of colour or appearance generally requires a declaration to the commune, and more in protected areas. We explain the process at the site visit.
How long does a well-executed façade last?
Twelve to twenty years depending on exposure and system. The difference is almost always explained by the quality of the preparation.
