The context
A 1928 house left untouched, bought by a couple who wanted to recover its original light without erasing the building's character. Three floors, mouldings everywhere, joinery under six coats of paint.
The constraint
The mouldings could not be chemically stripped without losing their profile. We soft-blasted them, section by section, which added six days to the programme but saved the cornices. The walls then received a lime plaster, chosen to let old masonry breathe without a sealed barrier.
